It almost goes without saying that Feta cheese represents arguably our most important import. The most popular cheese in Greece by some margin, this white crumbly cheese is also hugely popular in the UK cheese market and throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
Since 2002, ‘Feta’ has been a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product in the European Union. Only those cheeses produced in a traditional way in certain areas of Greece, made from sheeps milk or a mixture of sheeps and upto 30% Goats milk, can be called ‘Feta’.Otherwise, a similar cheese made from cows milk, or not meeting the criteria above, is called ‘white cheese’, ‘Greek Style feta’, ‘Salad cheese’ or other similar names.
For such a key product we supply a range of different quality Greek Feta and ‘Feta Style’ cheeses with different price points to suit the needs of our customers.
It is ideal for salads and used in various cooking and baking recipes.
